Six to Six

Six to Six Productions LLC is a new CLT-based production company created by experienced amateurs. Currently in post-production for our debut short film called “Hey Dad” and making plans for a music video.

Hey Dad was originally written NOT to be shown. It was a think piece for Doherr, after his father had passed and he struggled with the experience of losing something he hadn’t had in a long time. A connection with his dad.

The story comes from experience, but is not a revenge indulgence to air out dirty laundry. At large, Hey Dad is a vulnerable story about dealing with grief in a corner. A self-made cage, a car with no music, but a working phone.

Doherr was convinced to go through with this project after a push by one of the film’s producers, Isabella Frommelt. A year or so later, with the major help of Kate White, the team did a fundraising event in Wilmington with the Live Oaks foundation. Six to Six Productions was born during this labor.

Rolan “Roe” B. Doherr is a CLT-based Writer/Director.

Doherr strives for collaboration over perfection. Art cultivated by teamwork must beat auteuristic pride. A director’s place is to lead the group down a path, not to convince others how they can carry the director. With this thinking it opens an environment for imagination and improvisation.

A writer since the 6th grade, Doherr has been in front of and behind a camera since he was in High School. After graduating from Appalachian State University, he stayed near the camera working on projects like "The Hunting Wives" and many other Charlotte sets. In between, he showran and starred in a late night show on YouTube always for the purpose of honing his craft for directing.
